| The declaration of total fat, saturated and
unsaturated fat is legally required for an increasing number of food and agricultural products. The dedicated Fat Determination System B-815/820/821 revolutionizes this vital analytical process by seamlessly combining automated sample preparation and analysis based on a gas chromatography technique. Whether its total fat, butyric acid or individual fatty acids, always the same method principle is applied; this is the advantage which makes the Caviezel® Method valuable and versatile and finally cuts down analysis costs. |

| Manual System B-815/820 | |
| The Extraction Unit B-815 is used in compliance with the Büchi Caviezel® Method to provide a fast and user-friendly sample preparation. According to this Caviezel® Method it has been specifically designed for use in combination with the B-820 unit. Within one step the samples fat is extracted and simultaneously saponified. The temperature program as well as the stirring speed are pre-programmed and optimized for the efficient extraction of fat in foods and feeds. Up to four samples can be processed in parallel. The features of the glass assembly helps to make the handling safe and convenient for the operator. The Fat Determination Unit B-820 is designed as analyzer for routine determinations of total fat, butyric and individual fatty acids. The analysis are processed by manual injections of the extract from the B-815. The measurement of the fatty acids is based on a gas chromatographic separation and final detection by a flame ionization detector. This unit is fit to meet the requirements of routine analysis in foods and feeds because all temperature settings, the data processing and the calculation of the results are stored in dedicated programs ready to be pulled for the analysis. This benefit enables the user to carry out fat determination in the simplest way within a very short time and without sophisticated knowledge of gas chromatography. Safety functions and control features incorporated in this unit provide the users safe operation. |

The Automated Detection Unit B-820/821 Utilizing the Autosampler B-821 for the Fat Determination Unit B-820 raises distinctly the samples throughput for routine determinations of total fat, butyric acid and individual fatty acids. The Autosampler B-821 is directly hocked up to the analyzer and operated by the B-820 software. Up to a sequence of 48 samples can be injected automatically. Safety functions and control features incorporated in this unit provide the users safe operation and make unattended overnight runs possible. This unit is fit to meet the requirements of routine analysis in foods and feeds because all temperature settings, the data processing and the calculation of the results are stored in dedicated programs ready to be pulled for the analysis in question. This benefit enables the user to carry out fat determination in the simplest way within a very short time and without sophisticated knowledge of gas chromatography.
