Advanced Capillary Electrophoresis Detectors
Groton Biosystems is dedicated to capillary electrophoresis and understands the modern laboratory's need to utilize an array of detector technologies in its day-to-day routines and methods development work. In an effort to facilitate optimum capillary electrophoresis in your laboratory, Groton Biosystems is now offering two ultraviolet absorbance detectors (fixed wavelength and variable wavelength) and a new, high sensitivity fluorescence detector (fixed wavelength) designed purposely to optimize detection at capillary scale. All of our detectors are modular and are compatible with CE, HPLC and FIA applications. These detectors can easily be mounted externally to Groton HPCE units or any other supplier's systems that are compatible with external detection systems. It is possible with our detectors to develop multiple, serial detection strategies for those difficult samples or to optimize information content of those trace quantity samples that every lab encounters from time to time. Groton HPCE instruments can even be easily interfaced to your Mass Spectrometer providing the ultimate in HPCE detection.
UV-Vis Absorbance Detectors
Fixed Wavelength UV-VIS Absorbance Monitor
High Sensitivity
The VUV-14 is a fixed wavelength light absorbance monitor
designed to be used with ultra low volume sampling cells under
flowing solvent conditions (i.e. Chromatography). The VUV series
of detectors has a high-resolution analog output with a
sensitivity range from 4.0 AU/V to 0.0005AU/V and feature a
state-of-the-art noise level of less than +/- 0.00001 AU.
Flexible Configurations
The VUV-14D can work at any wavelength in the range from 190 to
1000 nm provided the appropriate interference filter is installed
in the instrument for the desired wavelength. The VUV-14 comes
standard with a low pressure Hg lamp and 254 nm filter. You can
also choose a tungsten lamp to cover the wavelength ranges of 370
to 1000 nm, or a Deuterium lamp (VUV-14D) to cover wavelengths
from 190 to 400 nm. Any of the lamps can be used with a 10 nm
filter anywhere in their respective output ranges.
The VUV-14(D) has a broad line of sample cells available. These include cells designed for capillary "on column" monitoring, m HPLC, HPLC, nonmetallic HPLC, preparative, high-pressure preparative and square 10mm cuvette holders. What ever your application, the VUV-14 can serve as a reliable source for obtaining the results you want.
Reliable, Rugged, Low Maintenance Design
The VUV-14 is composed of a high reliability lamp, an
interference filter, true double beam sample/reference light
paths, a low RI high sensitivity HPLC flow cell (standard) and a
robust universal power supply
Variable Single Wavelength, ADVW Series
Variable Single Wavelength UV-VIS Absorbance
Monitor
The VUV-24, is one of the most versatile, reliable and sensitive
visible ultraviolet absorbance monitors on the market today. The
VUV-24 is particularly suited to the demands of Chromatography.
The VUV-24 uses state of the art photodiode design with
complimentary high-photon throughput optics. Supported by a
variety of sample cell designs, this detector is capable of
solving virtually every application needed in the laboratory.
The VUV-24 is capable of working from 190 to 400 nm. The working wavelength can be selected from the front panel by simple up/down arrows or through the standard serial interface.
The VUV-24 has one of the lowest noise and drift specifications in the industry. Extremely high signal to noise ratios are obtained with our standard flow cells and the sensitivity is substantially below the normal "chromatographic drift" that is routinely found in most separations.
The VUV-24 is designed for the highest linearity in absorbance possible.
The VUV-24 is designed to allow in field modifications to any of our sample cells. Available sample cells include, HPLC, m HPLC, preparative and capillary (CE and CEC).
All lamps for the VUV-24 are pre-aligned and readily accessible for in field service. The standard unit comes with a high quality long life (2000 hrs) Deuterium lamp for use from to 190 nm to 400 nm. The standard unit comes ready to be used at wavelengths as high as 940 nm with an increase in band pass in the visible region (via optional tungsten lamp).
The VUV-24 is ready to go anywhere in the world. The universal power supply has an AC input voltage of 100 to 240 Volts at 50 or 60 Hz. A rear barrier strip provides easy access to event, auto-zero and high-resolution analog Input/Output. The analog output is suitable for interface to integrators, chart recorders, or commonly used computer interface boards. Computer control and data acquisition can also be performed via the standard feature serial interface (RS-232) on the rear panel.
